Students thrive when taught by passionate and inspiring teachers. We believe that world-class education can only be delivered by world-class teachers, which is why we are committed to equipping primary school teachers with the tools and resources they need to best support their students.
We want them to be able to create dynamic and effective lessons that not only challenge but also inspire students.
Teacher workshops are held every year to provide teachers with new and innovative methods that will help improve the effectiveness of their teaching. The group setting of the workshops allows teachers to build an informal network of colleagues from across the country that encourages professional development and the exchange of ideas.
The coaching sessions take place between the workshops to support the teachers in implementing the latest strategies and teaching methods. Each session is individual and tailored to the teacher, so the feedback is both constructive and helpful.
A critical component to a successful educational experience is facilitating learning in a welcoming and encouraging environment. BOOKS FOR CHANGE integrates social and emotional learning into the core of our teacher support program as our ethos is designed to foster learning environments where elementary school students can thrive and are equipped with the skills needed to succeed.
We regularly measure the results of our core and pilot programs to make strategic programmatic decisions going forward. By analyzing both quantitative data (student test scores) and qualitative data (interviews and observations), we are able to track student and teacher performance, share progress with communities, and evaluate the effectiveness of our programs.
