Advocacy with Circus Kathmandu
The primary goal of BFC advocacy efforts is to support and complement BFC programs to ensure equal implementation and observance of human rights and a life of dignity for all people.
BFC works with Ama Nepal, Youth Foundation Nepal and Circus Kathmandu to raise awareness of education and human trafficking issues in communities through various educational programs and activities.
The goals of advocacy activities are:
To contribute to an improved and sustainable livelihood and to a just and peaceful society.
To contribute to a change in political, economic or social structures that oppress people.
To improve the sustainability of BFC programs in which people act as self-determined individuals or groups.
BFC sees advocacy as a useful addition to actual development cooperation.

For all levels of advocacy work, it is important to inform the various actors, to give them a say or to involve them in the decision-making process.
With regard to raising awareness of human trafficking and violence against women, we work with organizations that specialize in these areas and have a network.

Non-violence : BFC explicitly distances itself from any violent action.
Working in Alliances : BFC works in networks and allies with similar goals.
Accountability : BFC does not engage in advocacy activities for its own sake. Advocacy is only legitimate if it helps to improve the situation of disadvantaged people.
Proximity to the people : BFC tailors its advocacy activities to the needs of its beneficiaries.
Solidarity based on human rights : Advocacy work is also a sign of solidarity. For BFC, solidarity means that everyone benefits from respect for human rights.
