introduction
In Switzerland, BOOKS FOR CHANGE is registered as a charitable association under Swiss law (ZGB, Article 60ff).
BOOKS FOR CHANGE was founded in 2016 with the belief that every child deserves a quality education. Our model focuses on change within schools in low-income communities during two time periods that are most critical to a child's schooling: early elementary school for literacy acquisition and secondary school for girls' education.
We envision a world where all children receive a quality education. This enables them to reach their full potential and make their own contribution to their community and to the world at large.
With these child protection guidelines, we are raising awareness of the importance of proactive child and youth protection and setting standards that are intended to prevent any abuse of children and youth.
basis
The guidelines are based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1989) and the two optional protocols that prohibit child trafficking, child pornography and child prostitution, as well as the participation of children in armed conflicts.
definition
Abuse within the meaning of these guidelines occurs when children or young people under the age of 18 are physically or otherwise harmed. The term abuse includes both physical and emotional abuse, instances of neglect and sexual assault.
Individual rules of conduct
