With this amount we are financing a new library, a fully equipped computer room and a solar system in remote Dolpa, about two days' journey from Kathmandu. As an organization, BOOKS FOR CHANGE is characterized by the fact that the local population is in the foreground and actively helps to shape the implementation of the projects. Through our partnerships, we strengthen the local communities in their independence and self-responsibility and provide help for self-help for disadvantaged people who want to actively improve their living conditions. We avoid activities that degrade people to dependent beneficiaries.

Our local BOOKS FOR CHANGE team in Kathmandu is in the midst of final preparations. They all speak the local language and are part of the culture in Nepal. This builds trust with local communities and puts them first. This personal responsibility also increases the sustainability of a project.
